Our Congregation

Shepherd of the City is located in one of the poorest neighborhoods in the state of Indiana and in an area in desperate need of hearing God's law and gospel. People of all ages and various races and ethnicities come together during the Divine Service each week at SoC as part of the one family of God to receive the many blessings that our Lord and Savior would lavish upon them in His word and sacraments. It is an important ministry in a neighborhood in serious need.

Our Building

Our aging church building at SoC is more than 120 years old and in desperate need of repairs and updates. With the generous support of numerous donors over the past year, we've been able to raise enough funds to repair our roof, but the necessary repairs don't stop there. The electrical wiring, the stone steps in multiple entrances, the brickwork, the guttering, and the plaster all need attention, among other areas. With your continued support, we can restore Shepherd of the City to its former glory and ensure that the gospel continues to be proclaimed and the people of the Memorial Park and East Central neighborhoods in Fort Wayne continue to be served with word and sacrament from the corner of Alliger and South Anthony for many years to come.
